Idol at Hindu temple torched in Thakurgaon

Pressure won in town Uttargaon of Thakurgaon's Ranisankail upazila after certain individuals burnt a symbol of Hindu goddess Kali at a sanctuary Thursday night. 'A gathering of individuals harmed the symbol at the Kali Temple nearby Shanto Chandra's home in the town at about 9:00pm and escaped,' said Ranisankail cop in-control Jahid Iqbal. A 18-year-old youth has been captured in Bangalipara of Thakurgaon's sadar upazila for posting a transformed photograph of Bangladesh PM Sheik Hasina via web-based media, police said on Friday. The young has been distinguished as Raju Hossain, child of Sanowar Hossain. 22 arrested for attacking Hindu houses in Sulla

Police captured 22 individuals regarding two cases recorded with Sulla police headquarters for their supposed inclusion in Wednesday's assaulting and plundering Hindu houses at town Noagaon under Sulla upazila in Sunamganj. Four get death sentence for killing businessman in Khulna

A Khulna court on Thursday condemned four individuals to death and five others to life term detainment for killing a financial specialist in 2010. Of the convicts, Farid Mollah, Misbah Mollah, Mortaza Mollah and Tutul Mollah of town Ketenga of Terokhada upazila were condemned to death, whille Mukta Mollah, Shahidul Shikdar, Selim Shikdar, Nasir Shikder and Mehedi Mollah of a similar town were condemned to life-term detainment.
