Idol at Hindu temple torched in Thakurgaon
Pressure won in town Uttargaon of Thakurgaon's Ranisankail upazila after certain individuals burnt a symbol of Hindu goddess Kali at a sanctuary Thursday night. 'A gathering of individuals harmed the symbol at the Kali Temple nearby Shanto Chandra's home in the town at about 9:00pm and escaped,' said Ranisankail cop in-control Jahid Iqbal. Local people quickly raced to the spot yet when they drenched the flares, the symbol was burnt up, he said. 'Police watching in the region has been ventured up and an examination is in progress,' the official added. Sadhan Bosak, general secretary of Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council's upazila unit, said that Shanto Chandra will document a grievance in such manner.
